Constitution Week

When the library’s display schedule allows, the Rancho Purisima Chapter prepares an educational display at the Lompoc library at 501 East North Avenue for Constitution Week, September 17-23.

Lompoc Library Christmas Tree Fundraiser

Each year, chapter members decorate a tabletop tree for the annual Friends of the Lompoc Library Christmas tree fundraiser.

The Rancho Purisima Chapter supports conservation by collecting recyclables at every chapter meeting.

Veterans and Patriotic Endeavors

The Rancho Purisima Chapter presents a wreath at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery and the River Park Vietnam Veterans Memorial every Memorial Day. When the library’s display schedule allows, the chapter also periodically prepares a Veterans Day exhibit in the library’s display case.

DAR Project Patriot

We support the mission of the DAR Project Patriot Committee. At the chapter level, members adopt one local woman serving in the military overseas and sends packages from home. At the national level, DAR support is focused on two groups: women serving in the military and the wounded military personnel at three locations: the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Landstuhl, Germany, Wounded Transition Brigade in Bethesda, Bethesda, Maryland, and Wounded Warrior and Family Support Center in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, phone cards are provided to chaplains in Afghanistan and at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, a 1A Mobilization Training Center for deploying troops.
